Theater Honor Society

Alpha Zeta Psi is Marywood's chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, the national Theatre Honor Society. Alpha Psi Omega was organized in the 1920's as a Theatre Honor Society for the purpose of providing acknowledgement to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in Theatre. Athletic's Honor Society

National Scholastic Honor Society for Students, Alumni, and Faculty of Catholic Colleges and Universities

Iota Lambda Chapter, Delta Mu Delta is the national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students in business administration. Delta Mu Delta promotes scholarship in business subjects and and recognizes and rewards scholastic achievements.

International Education Honor Society, Rho Pi Chapter works in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Educators Association (PSEA) Club. Kappa Delta Pi claims over 600 chapters across North America and 45,000 total members. Invitations to join are based on academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude which assures the members steady growth in the field of education.

National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society.  The purpose of the Kappa Gamma Pi Society is to strive for a high standard of personal Christian excellence, service, and scholarship among members; to encourage individual and group initiative and participation in local and national church and secular affairs; and to awaken a spirit of Christian leadership among the undergraduates of Kappa affiliated colleges and universities.

National Communication Association Honor Society, Rho Tau Chapter

International Honor Society in History, Iota Sigma Chapter

Phi Epsilon Kappa is the National Honor Society for Physical Education, Recreation, Health and Dance, Epsilon Sigma Chapter.  Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.

Membership is open to any Health & Physical Education student who has completed 12 credits in the major and holds a GPA of between 3.0 and 3.5.

National Foreign Language Honor Society. Through Phi Sigma Iota, Marywood University and its Department of Foreign Languages promote the benefits of speaking other languages and studying other cultures through coursework as well as internships both in the United States and abroad. 

PAA recognizes outstanding undergraduate as well as graduate students in public administration, public policy, and public affairs.

National Social Science Honor Society for Undergraduate Students, Alpha Eta Chapter

The Zeta Epsilon chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the Music honor society, was formed at Marywood in 1987   

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929. Psi Chi has two goals: To recognize academic excellence through induction and nurture the spark of accomplishment by providing growth and development through chapter activities.

Sigma Pi Epsilon Delta is the National Special Education Honor Society. It operates congruently with Marywood's Chapter of Student Council for Exceptional Children.

English Honor Society

The mission of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International is to support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference in health worldwide. Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing.

Each year, students of sophomore standing or higher who have displayed a dedication to campus media receive invitations to join Marywood University’s chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists. Individual SCJ members and campus media organizations like The Wood Word, TV-Marywood and 91.7 VMFM have won numerous awards in the SCJ national contest, which is the only college media contest judged by professionals.

The NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States. Our NSLS chapter at Marywood University was started in 2017. Our local chapter is part of the national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members.  Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement. As of 2021 we have 693 members who have access to: More than $400,000 in scholarships. An exclusive NSLS job board. Marywood's chapter of Alpha Kappa Theta promotes excellence in research, learning, teaching, and publication in the area of religious study.

International Art Honor Society, Zeta Omicron Chapter The Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society is a service organization for art majors, sophomores & up who have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.5 in their major. Zeta Omicron helps our members get involved in the local art community. The group also sponsors several art-related community service projects each year, and offers scholarships as well as publication opportunities. Join the Zeta Omicron chapter of Kappa Pi to engage in art-related activities with other art majors who care about art in its role in life.
