Monitoring Executive Performance

Policy Statement

The Board monitors executive performance in such a way as to have systematic assurance of compliance, while freeing the Board to concentrate most of its time on creating the future rather than checking the past. Its approach to monitoring is based on its philosophy of governance through strategic direction and major policy making, and is carried out in a relatively automatic way.

  1. The Board directs the President of the University through goals to be achieved and executive limitations. Monitoring addresses both.
  2. Monitoring occurs in one or a combination of ways.
Internal Reports: Periodic reports from the President of the University to the Board.

External Assessors:  Auditors, on-site visitors for accreditation purposes, site inspectors, consultants, and the like.
